    The Charleston Area Ladies Golf Association was formed to promote the game of golf and foster fellowship among our lady golfers. The LGA at Muni is a member of CALGA and members can participate in their events and other activites. For more information, Visit the CALGA website.


  • Muni Ladies at May CALGA Event

    Ladies CALGA
    The JLGA Muni ladies dominated the field in the recent CALGA tournament at Legend Oaks, May 21. We saw some fantastic performances from the women representing Muni. 

    • Leslie Kalemjian – Field Low Net Winner with a score of 72. 
    • Kristen Biety and Kim Caradonna –  Tied 1st Flight Low Net Winner with a score of 76. 
    • Pamela Kennedy – 1st Flight, 2nd Low Gross Winner with a score of 91. 
    • Terry Rickson – 1st Flight, 2nd Low Net Winner with a score of 80.
    • Dottie Aimar – 3rd Flight, 1st Low Net Winner with a score of 76. 
    • Sara Murphy – 4th Flight, 2nd Low Gross Winner with a score of 102. 
    • Blanche George – 4th Flight, 2nd Low Net Winner with a score of 83. 
    • Sue Gordon – 5th Flight, 1st Low Gross Winner with a score of 102. 
    • Marti Clayton – 5th Flight, 2nd Low Gross Winner with a score of 105.

  • Muni Ladies at April CALGA Event

    The Muni Ladies Golf Team competed in CALGA on April 8th at Coosaw Creek, showcasing strong performances across various flights. Here’s a summary of our winning Ladies:

    • Flight 1: Leslie Kalamejian clinched 1st place gross, while Kim Caradonna secured 2nd place net.
    • Flight 4: Blanche George earned a commendable 2nd place net.
    • Flight 5: Lynn Besancon took home the top spot in gross, and Mary Sudzina followed closely with 2nd place net.
    • Flight 6: Sue Tremont won 1st place net, and Sue Gordon captured 2nd place gross.

    Congratulations to all the participants for their outstanding achievements and sportsmanship!

  • Muni Ladies Prevail at Rivertowne

    As winter decided to give us one last chilly embrace, the Muni ladies weren’t deterred. Rivertowne Country Club hosted an enthralling display of skill and camaraderie, with 24 fierce competitors from our team. Among the stars, Kristen Biety and Terry Rickson clinched a fantastic 2nd low gross in the first flight.  Leslie Kalemjian and Blanche George won low net, flight two. Jen O’Brien and Mary Sudzina made a striking duo, securing 2nd low net in the same flight. Harper Lee and Sandi Becka dominated the 3rd flight winning low gross, while Ruth Yack and Mariejosee Gignac tied for low net.  In the 4th flight, Trina Turberville and Sue Tremont tied for 2nd low net. And, wrapping up the victories, Sue Gordon and Kathy Clark brought home the low gross for the 5th flight.

    A hearty congratulations to all our Muni ladies! Your resilience and talent continue to inspire. The ladies will play the next CALGA Tournament at Coosaw Creek on April 8th. Here’s to many more successes on the greens!


  • Muni Team in February CALGA Event

    The Muni team traveled to The Links at StonoFerry Course on February 20th to compete in the second CALGA event of 2024.  The Muni Ladies had a strong performance and showing on the course. With 17 players registered to play, 8 placed in their flight.

    The March Tournament for the Muni ladies who play CALGA will be on March 19 at RiverTowne.  The format will be a 4-ball, so individuals will be paired with another Muni player.   • Muni Players Post Winning Scores at Inaugural 2024 CALGA Event

    The Muni team  traveled to Kiawah Oak Point Golf Course on January 15th to compete in the initial CALGA event of 2024.  The Muni Ladies performance was a stunning display of skill and sportsmanship.  A number  players from the Muni posted winning scores. (see below)  The next CALGA competition will be on February 20th at The Links at Stono Ferry.

  • Muni Women Take 2nd in Calga Final

    Congratulations to Muni Women for a stellar performance in the CALGA 2-Day Championship! The competitions were at Dunes West and Seabrook Crooked Oaks.  The final day was played on November 14th.  Battling tough conditions, they showcased resilience and skill, securing a well-deserved 2nd place. The 2nd day was impressive, and the individual efforts, especially from Mary Sudzina(73), Sue Gordon(76), Kristen Biety(77), and Terry Rickson(77), were outstanding. Despite the challenging weather, your team’s dedication and passion for golf really showed. Cheers to Muni Women on a fantastic tournament, and here’s to more victories on the greens!


  • Dunes West and Muni in Tight Battle as Seabrook Prepares to Host CALGA Final Showdown

    (Nov. 1, 2023) – After the first round of the Chris Schiable Two-Day Classic, Dunes West Golf Club has surged to the forefront, notching 285 points, closely pursued by the resilient Muni team, holding steady at 291. All eyes are fixed on the highly-anticipated final round at Seabrook on November 14th.

    The Muni team saw standout performances from their low 4 players. Lynn Besancon stole the limelight, delivering a scintillating 68, followed closely by Jennifer O’Brien at 73, Ruth Yack at 74, and Sue Gordon at 76, cementing the club’s position with a solid collective effort.

    The Chris Schiable Two-Day Classic takes the scores of the low 4 players from each club to make the team score. The final round will be played November 14th on the Crooked Oaks Course at Seabrook Island. 

    Amidst the annual CALGA individual points standings, the Muni Ladies hold 3 of the top 10 spots. Terry Rickson and Lori Izzary shine prominently, sitting in the 2nd and 3rd spots, while Mary Sudzina’s play places her in the 10th position, setting the stage for an exhilarating culmination to the championship.

    As Seabrook readies itself to host the final face-off, the Charleston Area Ladies Golf Association braces for an electrifying showdown, showcasing the tenacity and competitive spirit that define the essence of women’s golf at its finest.


  • JLGA Ladies Day Tee Times

    The City of Charleston Golf Commission approved support for a Women’s tee time block on Wednesdays (Ladies’ Day).  Every Wednesday, four (4) tee times from 9:27-9:54 AM are planned (for now at least).  There currently is about a 40-person contact list that is being used to coordinate the tee times bookings each week.  For more information and bookings please contact the Jenkins Links Ladies’ Director, Carole Davis at agrace2029@gmail.com or by phone at 843-992-9677.
