Charleston Municipal Youth Caddie Program

In association with the Western Golf Association (WGA) Evans Scholarship Foundation, junior caddies are now available at Charleston Municipal Golf Course. The program lets local students earn money as a caddie and become eligible for the WGA’s Chick Evans Scholarship.

The Evans Scholarship is a full tuition and housing college scholarship for high-achieving caddies with limited financial means. To qualify, caddies must meet the requirements of having a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need and outstanding character. This year, there are 1,100 Evans Scholars enrolled at 21 leading universities nationwide.

  • All caddies are paid $40.00 per 18 holes by the Evans Scholars Foundation.
  • Local golfers should pay a minimum gratuity of $20 to their caddie.
  • Caddies can carry, push a cart or fore-caddie.
  • All caddies receive credit toward a potential Evans Scholarship.
  • During the school season, caddies are available only on Saturdays and Sundays.

To schedule a caddie, please call or text Mike Hepner at (843)364-1884.
