Men’s Interclub
The Muni Men were home at the Muni and the boys delivered.  The Muni team secured a 2nd Place finish with a host of players finishing in the top 25.  Tops among the Muni men were E. Stubbs, J. DeStefano, B. Wiese, and B. Rotundo.  After the Muni high finish the Team now stands at 3rd Place in the yearlong competition.  The next Men’s Interclub competition will be on August 17th at Coosaw Creek Country Club, North Charleston.  Registration will open in soon.  Any JLGA mens member is eligible to join the Muni Team.  To register, please go to the Interclub Portal on Golf Genius using the GGID: CHSINT26.

CALGA
There was no CALGA competition in July.  The next competition will be the Chris Schaible 2-Day Golf Classic 2026.  The first day’s competition will be at Snee Farms Country Club, Mt. Pleasant.  Please contact Jennifer O’Brien at jobrien@dunesproperties.com for details.

JLGA July Blitz
The July Blitz was the “Caddy Shack Day in America” 18 Hole competition played on July 1st.  A 32 player field of early-bird members used the Western Golf Association “Evans Scholar Caddies” to play in the 18 Hole competition at the Muni.  The list of winners follows.

JLGA Competition in August- “Pick Your Partner” 4 Ball
Next the JLGA will host the “Pick Your Partner” 4 Ball on August 18th.  Tee times will start at 11:00 AM for this 18 hold competition.  At this time the field is full but you can register for the Waitlist in case someone drops before August 18th by going to the Jenkins Links website.

Key 2026 Rule Updates and Modifications

• Preferred Lies Size: The relief area for “lift, clean, and place” has been reduced from one full club-length down to one scorecard-length (roughly 11 inches) in closely mown areas. [1, 2]
   
• Unknowing Ball Movement: If a player accidentally causes their ball to move without realizing it and plays the next shot, the penalty drops from two strokes to one stroke. [1, 2]
   
• Other Players’ Pitch Marks: Free relief is now allowed if a ball embeds in another player’s unrepaired pitch mark in closely cut areas, though this still does not apply to standard fairway divots. [1, 2]
   
• Internal Out of Bounds: Committees can now designate internal O.B. lines to apply exclusively to strokes made from the teeing area rather than subsequent recovery shots. [1, 2]
   
• Green-Side Obstructions: Line-of-play relief from immovable obstructions (like sprinkler heads) near the green is expanded to include ground-under-repair situations for players putting from the fringe. [1, 2]
   
• Damaged Equipment: Players are permitted to repair or rebuild significantly damaged clubs mid-round using spare components already carried in their bag, provided abuse did not cause the damage. [1, 2]
